The Chevron Research Award of Excellence in Honor of John Bacha

John Bacha was a consulting scientist with Chevron Products Company. He was a strong supporter of IASH, and was internationally recognized for his studies on diesel fuel and residual fuel chemistry. He was also extremely keen to encourage the younger generation to join and enrich the industry. After his untimely death, his family initiated a fund (The John Bacha Education Fund) to be directed toward student sponsorship and other educational opportunities that may arise. The fund will sponsor one or more young researchers who are within five years of graduation to attend an IASH International Symposium from wherever they are domiciled to wherever the symposium is held.
